Which encryption software does Trusted Shops use? |
 |
Trusted Shops GmbH uses encryption according to the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) standard. We offer this encryption technology (SSL with 128-bit encryption and 1024-bit key) for the strictly confidential transfer of personal information such as registration and guarantee data. This encryption technology is recommended as secure by the German consumer group, “Stiftung Warentest”, and is also used by banks for their m-commerce.
The only thing you require is a modern browser (Netscape 4.7 or newer version or Internet Explorer 5.01 or newer version). Even if you are using an older browser, your data will still be subject to encryption (SSL 40-bit).
Normally, only the actual online form for sending your personal data will be encrypted, since SSL-connections are considerably slower than normal connections. If you prefer to have your full session encrypted, please call up the Trusted Shops web site using the URL address https://www.trustedshops.com; the protocol prefix https: includes links to pages explaining the SSL-standard. We always keep track of new developments that enable us to provide our customers with a maximum security. Please use the SSL-Check, if you want to have the Trusted Shops' SSL-certificate analysed by the “Stiftung Warentest”.
