When do people check their e-mails?

Sending newsletter on a weekly or even a daily basis has become an important part of todays online Marketing. But have you ever wondered when you should actually send your newsletter to your subscribers. Beta Research has conducted an interesting Study on when internet users usually check their emails. To know the habbits of your customers could be very helpful when you start your next newsletter campaign.

As you can see on this on this graph from eMarketer most of the people check their E-Mails during the day. That could mean that E-Mails are read during while at work eg. during working hours. According to the Pago Report 2008, there are also differences in the preferred time for online purchases: German consumers use the period from 8pm to 10pm, i.e. after work, most whereas the peak period in the UK is between 2pm and 4pm, i.e. during working hours.
